Material you will Need for your Intelligence Cards: Cardboard
We suggest that the intelligence cards be prepared over white cardboard on both sides, this type of cardboard is thick and rigid cardboard in function to the composition and the quality of the material. If the cardboard you are using is not rigid enough to prepare the intelligence cards you are making, make sure you use cardboard that can be held with one hand without it folding, and that it is solid enough to resist repeated handling, especially if you are planning on having more children besides the one you are currently teaching. In the cases in which the white cardboard does not offer an adequate contrast for the intelligence cards that are prepared, use black cardboard or any other color that is adequate for giving a good contrast. In order to make your job easier, you can get the cardboard sent to be made. If you go to a paper factory, tell them to take care of cutting them for you as well. The cardboards should be of 11 X 11 inches in size.
Material you will need for your intelligence cards: black permanent marker
In order to mark the back of your intelligence cards you are going to need a thick pointed black permanent marker. There are diverse types that can be found in the market. These permanent markers are used with a tint that has a varnish base. Do not forget to place the tops back on the markers when you are not using them so that the varnish does not evaporate and causes it to dry out. Keep these things out of the reach of your child as well.
Material you will be needing for your intelligence cards: glue
According to what we have seen, the best element for sticking photos and pictures on cardboard is glue that has a resin base. Apply a light layer on the back of the image and on the corresponding area of the cardboard where the image will be situated. When both layers are pretty dry, press the image against the cardboard. The union of the card can be reinforced by placing one sheet of clean paper over your new intelligence card and rubbing the surface with your hand.
Material you will be needing for your intelligence cards: plasticizing
The idea intelligence card is plasticized on both sides. Plasticizing reinforces the card by which it is easier to ruin it and it also protects it from finger prints and dirt. If you keep in mind the attention that your dedicate to preparing each intelligence card it would seem logical that you would want to conserve it as well as possible so that you will be able to use it again or so that other members in your family are able to use it as well. Most of the families cannot have their intelligence cards plasticized by machine. However, it is possible to buy rolls of see through auto adhesive plastic which is a material that is easy to apply.
