Teach your Child is an Appropriate Environment
It is very important you provide your child with the right environment that is free of visual, auditive and tactile distractions before teaching him. Most houses do not have very quiet places to work in. nonetheless, it is possible to reduce the chaos that goes on in every day houses and this is something that is good for the baby. This can be done by getting rid of television, radio and music while you are teaching him. Make sure to play during very short periods of time with your child. To begin with you will only need to play a few times a day, each session will not take over a few seconds of your time. The mother or father will need to use a great amount of prudence to determine when to stop the learning session. Something else is very important is to stop playing before your child wants to stop playing. The mother and the father should know what the child is thinking about a little bit before the child himself knows it and should leave it right then. Always teach your child less material than he would want to see. Your child should always consider that you are a little bit frugal in that sense. There is never enough, and because of that, he always wants more. All little children would become disturbed if they were allowed this. That is why they cry for “More!” This is one of the most classic signs of success. You will be able to keep this success if you do not give up to these demands, or at least not right away.
This is where the tyranny of a little child can intervene. When it does intervene, remember that you are the mother and because of that, the teacher of the flash cards, of reading words, and so forth is you. Do not allow your child to mark the rules of the game because this is your responsibility. He will not make wise decisions but you will be able to make them. Remember that even though he is the best student in the world, you are the best teacher in the world. Promise the child that you will come back in five minutes and ask him to finish doing something before and then you will be able to go back to your learning session. If you always stop before your child wants to stop, he will ask you for more learning sessions, and you will be nurturing his natural desire of learning instead of destroying it.
