Baby's Story

Teaching Math Dots with Speed

Keep in mind that the quicker you teach you child his math dots the better his attention and interest will be. Remember also that your child will have received your full and complete attention and that little children love this more than anything else in the world. Do not ask your child to repeat the numbers with you. After having taught your child card number five, give him a big kiss and hug and manifest your affection towards him in a very clear and evident way. At the end of every session tell your son how proud you are of him and how good and smart he is. Tell him that you really love him. We suggest you hug him and express your love to him physically. Repeat this session two more times during the first day in exactly the same way we have described before. In the first weeks of your math teaching program there will need to be an interval of at least half an hour in between sessions. Then, the sessions can be repeated with only fifteen minute breaks. After the first day is over, you will know that you have taken the first step to teaching your child to understand what math is. On the second day you will need to repeat the basic session three times. Add in a new set of five new dots which in this case would be six, seven, eight, nine and ten. This new set should be shown to the child three times a day and given that each set will be taught three times a day, you will be doing a total of six math sessions over day. The first time that you teach the set of cards from one to five and the set of cards from six to ten you will be able to show them in order (this means one, two, three, four, five). After the first time, do not forget to always shuffle the set of cards before you show them again, so that your child sees the cards in an unpredictable way.
